The Sequim Irrigation Festival Run Series will offer 3 different runs for 2024. Registration is now available: Run Series Registration

The 5k and 1 mile fun runs will be on Saturday, May 4. It starts and finishes at Carrie Blake Park.  The half marathon will be on Sunday, May 5 . The Half Marathon will start at Gardiner Community Center and finish at Carrie Blake Park.

Run or walk 1 mile in Washington’s longest running festival!  All 1 mile participants will receive a collectable festival finisher’s medal and fun run swag.  This is a timed event.  This out and back event starts and ends at Carrie Blake park at  202 N. Blake Ave, Sequim, WA 98382 at 9am on Saturday, May 4.

Half Marathon

This half marathon starts at 8:30 a.m. on Sunday, May 5, 2024 at the Gardiner Community Center at 980 Old Gardiner Road. The run takes place along Old Gardiner Highway to Gardiner Beach Road. Runners will follow Gardiner Beach Road for a few miles to Diamond Point Road where they will turn left and head south before turning onto the Olympic Discovery Trail for the remainder of the race.  The half marathon ends at Carrie Blake Park, 202 N. Blake Ave, Sequim, Wa right in the heart of a plethora of fun activities presented by The Irrigation Festival, the longest continuing community festival in the state of Washington!

Half Marathon registrants will receive race swag, race bib, and finisher’s medal. Information on packet pickup, shuttles and race day info will follow when we get closer to the event.

Important Information about the half marathon:

  • There is no time cap.
  • Packet pickup will be the morning of the race at the start.  Please be there by 8:00 am to make sure you are able to check in with enough time before the start at 8:30 a.m.
  • There will be gear check at the start.  You can drop your items off and they will be available for you to pick up at the finish.  If you start running with a “throw away” sweatshirt it will be collected in the first two miles and be available for pickup at the finish. Any “throw away” items that are not claimed at the end of the run will be donated.  Any clothing tossed AFTER the first aide station is not guaranteed to be returned to you and will be collected and donated during course cleanup.
  • Shuttle: There will be a shuttle available from the finish to take you to the start.  The shuttle will leave Carrie Blake Park at 7:30 am SHARP and transport runners to the start of the half marathon.  If you are planning on riding the shuttle please consider being to Carrie Blake Park no later than 7:15 am.  This will give you enough time to gather your things, walk to the bus and be ready to leave at 7:30 am.  There will only be one shuttle and it will not wait.
  • Parking at the start: If you choose to drive to the start there will be ample parking, however please consider that there will not be transportation after the run back to your vehicle, you will need to find your own transportation back to your car.
  • Aide Stations: There will be 4 aide stations along the route. They will all have porta potties/bathroom facilities along with water and electrolytes. They will be at mile 3, mile 6, mile 8.5 and mile 11.
  • With the exception of the first 3 miles, the race will take place on the Olympic Discovery Trail.  The trail will remain open to the public during the race so please observe proper trail etiquette.
