Mason Blake
Mason Blake is honored to be chosen as a button designer again this year. He hoped to be the designer for 2 years in a row as his grandfather Jamie did in 1983 and 1984. In fact, he got the idea of drawing the water tower by Port Williams Rd when he found out his grandfather drew it as one of his button designs. Mason’s sister Kailah also loves to draw and paint, and her artwork inspired Mason to do his best on this design.
Mason’s hobbies include reading, drawing, playing with Legos, playing and creating Super Mario games, and playing music. He especially enjoys playing the drums and has been taking lessons from his father Owen during the past year. His favorite band is Van Halen, and he even colored the airplane on the button’s design like Eddie Van Halen’s guitar.
One of the things Mason misses the most is traveling to Kyoto, Japan where his mother Izumi is from. He cannot wait until he can visit his grandparents again.
Mason is in 3rd grade and attends Mrs. Benjamin’s class at Olympic Peninsula Academy. He is very happy to finally be back at school to see his friends.
